The Starter Grant is the first level of financial support from U4Heroes Foundation. It is intended for organizations that have successfully completed the Support Service School and are ready to implement support-service practices in their unit.

Grant Amount 150 000 UAH
When You Receive It After Completing the School

The grant is paid exclusively to the account of a legal entity. The organization must:

  • Be a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) under Ukrainian law
  • Have active status at the time of payment — not be undergoing liquidation or reorganization
  • Have a charter that provides for activity in social support, psychological assistance, or support services for service members
  • Have an open bank account with a Ukrainian bank
  • Have no outstanding debts to government authorities

Payment to individual (personal) bank accounts is not permitted.

The Care Index is a methodology developed by the Foundation to measure the quality of a support service. It covers four dimensions:

  • Accessibility — how easily service members can reach out for help
  • Coverage — the percentage of the unit that received support
  • Effectiveness — subjective and objective changes in condition
  • Sustainability — whether the service functions independently of specific key people

For the Starter Grant, the Index is recommended; for the second grant, it is mandatory. Methodology materials are provided to School participants during training.
